Since I’m deep into arrangements for some time this summer on “the Continent” — and not yet finished with that final, final installment of Reason for Being in the World — and Julia just enjoyed a rousing success with the grand finale of her two-year photo project, Projecting L.A. 2024, at the Los Angeles Central Library this past Sunday — I thought the elements propitiously aligned for this resharing of my epistolary account (originally published in July 2023) of how the photographer (that would be she) saved the life of the writer (that would be me).
