Hail Vitruvians!
This is just a quick note to tell you about the essay review noted above. For those of you who don’t know, The Metroplitan Review is an ambitious new literary review publishing on Substack since the start of the year and also set to publish its first print edition very soon. I’m pleased to say my essay on the recent novels of Katie Kitamura, including her latest, Audition, published in April, appears there today.
Kitamura is a novelist who has been gaining in attention and estimation — including a film of her 2017 novel, A Separation, in development — and I thought it was time to take a closer look and offer some thoughts. I hope, then, that you might take a look at my thoughts.
Thank you.
As ever, you read; therefore, the writer exists.
