When my partner, Julia, and I traveled the country by motor home during 2008-09, we reported on our experiences and research, particularly in Indian Country, in a number of different veins. One was in the form of longer profiles or shorter vignettes introducing some of the different people we met and the variety of their lives. I called the series “The People Along the Way.” I think, now, to offer a similar occasional series, maybe even share some of those older ones from time past, long before Homo Vitruvius
